Goldy, Greinke help D-backs pad NL West lead
Paul Goldschmidt hit a three-run homer to cap a five-run third inning to help the D-backs beat the Mariners, 5-2, in the finale of a three-game series on Sunday. Zack Greinke allowed no earned runs in 6 2/3 innings for the D-backs, who regained sole possession of first place in the National League West. Mike Leake allowed five runs in six innings, with all of the damage occurring in the third, for the Mariners, who lost ground in the playoff pursuit.
