Blue Jays bust out against Rays in lopsided win
The Blue Jays needed six hits to snap a dubious streak against the Rays, and they ended up getting that and more in the first inning. After Tyler Glasnow allowed RBI singles to Justin Smoak and Kendrys Morales, Aledmys Diaz put the exclamation point on a seven-run first with a three-run homer. Devon Travis added two hits and an RBI in the opening frame. Kevin Kiermaier was a bright spot for Tampa Bay with two homers, but the rest of the Rays’ offense was unable to generate runs in a lopsided loss to the Blue Jays.
