Rosario’s speed, 3 hits lead Mets to series win
A slower baserunner might not have scored on Michael Conforto’s seventh-inning single, which capped the Mets’ scoring in their 7-3 win over the Dodgers on Wednesday. Amed Rosario did so standing up — showcasing, for the umpteenth time, his elite speed. Rosario was the first batter from either team to reach safely, singling to right field to open the fourth. He came home that inning, then singled to drive home a run in the fifth, and singled and scored yet again in the seventh. Rosario’s relentlessness was part of a 14-hit attack behind Mets starter Zack Wheeler, who fanned nine in seven innings of three-run ball.
