Rays keep pressure on with sweep in Texas
Tommy Pham hit two home runs and the Rays put up crooked numbers in the second and fourth innings to complete a sweep in Texas and keep the Wild Card chase interesting. Adrian Beltre’s 475th homer was the highlight for Texas, as the veteran pulled even with Stan Musial and Willie Stargell on the all-time home run list. But Yohander Mendez (3 2/3 IP, 8 runs, 7 ER) put Texas in a hole early, and Tampa Bay cruised from there. Ryan Yarbrough earned his 15th win, setting a franchise rookie record.
