Rejuvenated Richards ends home slate in style
Trevor Richards closed out the home slate at Marlins Park with a dominant effort vs. the Reds. Richards struck out nine batters over seven scoreless innings, receiving plenty of run support thanks to a four-run third inning capped by Chad Wallach’s first career home run. Wallach and Brian Anderson notched three hits apiece as part of a 14-hit Marlins attack. Reds starter Michael Lorenzen allowed nine of those hits in just four innings. Miami’s bullpen chipped in with three innings to finish off the shutout against Cincinnati.
