Liriano delivers eight shutout innings as Bucs roll on

The Pirates’ latest win came in 4-1 fashion against the Phillies on Thursday as Francisco Liriano out-pitched A.J. Burnett in a battle of the Pirates’ top two starters from a season ago. The victory gave them a temporary two-game cushion in the Wild Card and has the team 2 1/2 games back of the Cardinals in the National League Central.
