Sources: Sale expected to avoid Tommy John

Chris Sale is expected to avoid Tommy John surgery after a second opinion on his sore left elbow confirmed a previous diagnosis of inflammation, sources told ESPN. He will miss the remainder of the regular season as he rehabilitates the injury.
