Report: Mets to buy Syracuse Chiefs

The Mets are closing in on a deal to purchase the Syracuse Chiefs, according to a person with knowledge of the deal, with plans to move their Triple-A affiliate there in 2019. The Mets have not confirmed the deal, which will displace the Nationals’ Triple-A team from its current home in Syracuse.
