Red Sox top prospect suspended for PEDs

Red Sox Minor League shortstop Michael Chavis, who is currently on the roster of the Double-A Portland Sea Dogs of the Eastern League, has received an 80-game suspension without pay after testing positive for Dehydrochlormethyltestosterone, a performance-enhancing substance in violation of the Minor League Drug Prevention and Treatment Program. The suspension of Chavis is effective immediately.
