Diaz carted off with ankle sprain after RBI single
Blue Jays shortstop Aledmys Diaz was removed from Sunday’s game against the Rays after an apparent injury to his left ankle during a bang-bang play at first base during the fifth inning. With Anthony Alford at third, Diaz hit a high chopper that was speared by a leaping Rays first baseman Brad Miller. Diaz flew down the baseline and Miller shoveled it to pitcher Chris Archer, who covered on the play.
