Mariners’ one-run magic continues vs. Rangers
Once again, the Mariners found a way to win without the top three hitters in their batting order, as Marco Gonzales dealt surging Seattle to a 2-1 victory over the Rangers. Doug Fister kept Seattle quiet until the sixth, when the Mariners broke through with RBI singles from Nelson Cruz and Kyle Seager. Edwin Diaz shut the door in the ninth for his MLB-leading 19th save.
