Astros place McCann on DL; Federowicz up

Veteran catcher Brian McCann was placed on the 10-day disabled list with right knee soreness Tuesday, and he flew back to Houston to be examined by Astros team doctors. The team purchased the contract of catcher Tim Federowicz from Triple-A Fresno.
