Thames to begin rehab assignment Wednesday

Eric Thames is scheduled to test his surgically-repaired left thumb in a rehab assignment with Triple-A Colorado Springs beginning Wednesday in Fresno, Calif., meaning potential logjams at first base and in the outfield may finally be nearing reality for the Brewers.
