Indians win big after Carrasco settles in vs. A’s
The Indians came alive after a sluggish start on Friday night to beat the A’s, 10-4, at Progressive Field. Carlos Carrasco made his first start since June 16, and was greeted with a home run by Dustin Fowler on his fourth pitch. But Carrasco settled in after a Matt Olson homer in the second, allowing three runs and striking out seven in 5 1/3. Khris Davis had a chance to do major damage with the bases loaded in the seventh, but Neil Ramirez struck out the Oakland slugger to end the inning and preserve a two-run lead. Francisco Lindor swiped home on a double steal a half-inning later, part of a four-run frame to help put away the game for Cleveland.
