Red Sox roll to 60th win behind Sale’s 12 K’s

Chris Sale logged 12 strikeouts over six strong innings and Mookie Betts’ 100th homer — a leadoff jack in the first — set the tone as the Red Sox launched three homers off Royals starter Jason Hammel in the series opener. J.D. Martinez and Xander Bogaerts connected for two-run jacks off Hammel, who exited after just two innings. Burch Smith did a nice job in relief with four scoreless innings, while Mike Moustakas hit his 17th homer for Kansas City.
