Phillies tie for NL East lead after marathon rout
The Phillies’ offense rolled for a series-opening win against the Pirates in a game that tied the NL record for the longest nine-inning game. Odubel Herrera and Andrew Knapp both hit three-run home runs, and Scott Kingery went 4-for-5 at the plate to power the Phillies. Nick Pivetta had another short start, pitching 2 2/3 innings, but was charged with only one earned run.
