Red Sox rout Royals for MLB-high 61st win

Xander Bogaerts’ bases-clearing double capped a four-run fifth inning and Mitch Moreland’s go-ahead sacrifice fly in a three-run seventh lifted to the Red Sox to a Major League-best 61 wins and a series victory over the Royals. David Price logged nine strikeouts despite giving up a homer to Lucas Duda and a tying hit-by-pitch in 4 2/3 innings. Mookie Betts logged four hits and Andrew Benintendi scored four times as Boston tacked on five runs in the final two frames.
