Harvey strong again as Reds stifle Cardinals
Matt Harvey allowed one run on four hits in five innings, striking out five to help the Reds top the Cardinals, 9-1, in the series opener on Friday. All-Star Scooter Gennett homered in the third, and Billy Hamilton made a home run-saving catch in the seventh for the Reds, who blew the game open with a five-run seventh inning. Carlos Martinez allowed three runs on six hits in five innings for the Cardinals.
