Upton’s bat, glove help Angels prevail in 10

Justin Upton robbed Eric Hosmer of a go-ahead, three-run homer in the eighth inning then hit a two-run homer in the 10th to help the Angels beat the Padres, 6-3, on Monday in the series opener. Andrew Heaney allowed two runs in 7 1/3 innings for the Angels. Clayton Richard gave up two runs in eight innings for the Padres, who are in the middle of a 10-game homestand.
