After monster year, Stanton second in NL MVP voting

In a game starved for offense more than ever, Giancarlo Stanton’s unmatched power has put him among the game’s elite. Thursday night’s National League MVP voting proved that, but it also reinforced the dominant state of pitching. Stanton finished second to Dodgers ace Clayton Kershaw, with 298 points to Kershaw’s 355.
