A’s recall Bash Bros with back-to-back homers

The A’s blasted back-to-back homers in consecutive innings for the first time since the Bash Brothers’ heyday of 1997 to take the finale in San Diego. Franklin Barreto, Josh Phegley, Mark Canha and Matt Olson provided the thunder, backing an excellent start from Frankie Montas (6 2/3 IP, 1 ER), and Jed Lowrie added a 2-run shot in the 8th. Joey Lucchesi lasted just 1 2/3 IP in his return from the DL, and the Padres couldn’t get going at the dish.
