Astros to place McCann on DL; Smith activated

Brian McCann is heading to the 10-day disabled list with a right knee injury, MLB.com has learned. Additionally, right-hander Joe Smith (right elbow soreness) was activated from the DL, and catcher Tim Federowicz was added back to the 40-man roster in a corresponding move.
