Backed by 4 HRs, Sevy first in AL to 16 wins
Giancarlo Stanton, Didi Gregorius, Miguel Andujar and Greg Bird all homered and Luis Severino secured his American League-best 16th victory in the Yankees’ win over the Blue Jays. Gregorius and Andujar each tallied three RBIs on the day, while Bird drove in two. Severino fanned eight over five-plus innings, yielding two runs. Toronto rookie starter Sean Reid-Foley did not fare as well, giving up eight runs (six earned) over 4 1/3 innings. The Jays showed life in the sixth inning, however, posting five runs. Justin Smoak and Danny Jansen each hit RBI singles, and the bases cleared on another single from Billy McKinney, who was tagged out trying to reach third. Kevin Pillar added an RBI double in the ninth.
