Barreto keys A’s 5-run 4th in sweep of Texas
Franklin Barreto’s two-out RBI single sparked a five-run fourth that turned the game around for the A’s as they polished off a sweep of Texas. Trevor Cahill put Oakland in an early hole, walking six and allowed three runs before exiting in the third. Meanwhile, his counterpart — Rangers “opener” Jeffrey Springs — threw three scoreless frames. But the A’s got to the Texas relievers, and Stephen Piscotty tacked on an insurance run with his 23rd homer.
