Boyd helps Tigers ice Indians’ bid to clinch

Matthew Boyd went 5 1/3 solid innings and Jeimer Candelario logged a pair of RBIs as the Tigers won the series opener and spoiled the Indians’ bid to clinch the American League Central title. Candelario led off the game with a homer and added a go-ahead RBI double in the seventh inning. Josh Donaldson hit his first homer with the Tribe, going back to back with Edwin Encarnacion in the sixth.
