Bregman’s blast helps Astros run win streak to 7

Alex Bregman launched his 30th homer and Martin Maldonado went deep to lift the Astros over the Red Sox for their seventh straight win. Tyler White also cracked an RBI triple, and Jake Marisnick and Yuli Gurriel added sacrifice flies. Starter Charlie Morton dealt five strong innings, yielding only two runs, and Houston’s bullpen held Boston in check the rest of the way, yielding only one run in the ninth on an Andrew Benintendi single. Xander Bogaerts provided the Sox’s early offense on an RBI single and a solo homer, while starter Eduardo Rodriguez struggled over 3 1/3 innings and was tagged for all five of the Astros’ runs.
