Carpenter exits with hand injury after HBP

Cardinals slugger Matt Carpenter exited Wednesday night’s game against the Nationals in the bottom of the seventh after being hit by a Matt Grace pitch on his right hand. Entering Wednesday, Carpenter led the National League in home runs (33), slugging percentage (.592) and OPS (.981).
