Cron, Adames mash early; Rays outlast A’s late

C.J. Cron and Willy Adames homered, and Brandon Lowe tripled in a pair of runs to provide the Rays with all the offense they’d need to win Sunday and take the series against the Athletics at Tropicana Field. Tampa Bay used eight pitchers during its third consecutive bullpen day and held Oakland to four hits, the last of which was a grand slam by American League home-run leader Khris Davis in the ninth inning.
