Cruz powers Mariners’ offensive outburst in win

Nelson Cruz powered the Mariners’ offensive outburst in an 8-2 win over the Angels at Angel Stadium on Thursday night. Cruz hit a three-run home run, his 36th homer of the season. Seattle starter Mike Leake tossed seven innings of one-run ball, striking out five. Mitch Haniger, Robinson Cano and Kyle Seager each collected two hits and an RBI for the Mariners. The Angels had a bullpen game for the second time in three days as Odrisamer Despaigne and Noe Ramirez each allowed three runs. Justin Upton homered for the Halos.
