Garvey’s latest Hall of Fame bid falls short

Steve Garvey’s Hall of Fame bid has fallen short once again, this time at the hands of the 16-member Modern Era Committee. The Modern Era ballot features players whose contributions came primarily from 1970-87. The committee — one of four tasked with choosing Hall of Famers from bygone eras — will meet again at the 2019 Winter Meetings.
