Gosselin starts as Simmons sits after dental work

Phil Gosselin got the start at shortstop for Atlanta on Friday night as the Braves opened their weekend series with the Oakland A’s at Turner Field. The reason Gosselin got to fill in was because regular shortstop Andrelton Simmons needed some dental work and was unable to start the game.
