Hicks day to day; MRI shows no hamstring tear

Outfielder Aaron Hicks is considered day to day after an MRI exam revealed no tear in his left hamstring, Yankees manager Aaron Boone told reporters before Tuesday night’s game against the Rays at Tropicana Field. Hicks, who exited Monday’s 4-1 win in the fourth inning after beating out a potential double-play ball, is still feeling tightness in his hamstring and is expected to rest for a few days, but Boone added that the Yankees “feel like we dodged a bullet.”
