Hustling Span helps Rays walk off in 10th

Denard Span beat out a two-out ground ball to first base, and pinch-runner Johnny Field raced home from second with the winning run as the Rays defeated the Twins, 8-7, in 10 innings Friday night at Tropicana Field. A 2 minute,16 second replay review to see whether pitcher Zach Duke’s foot touched the base before Span’s ensued, but the call on the field was upheld. Duke was given an error on the play, and the walk-off win stood.
