In selling off players, Nats look to future

The Cubs have acquired Nationals second baseman Daniel Murphy, a source tells MLB.com’s Jamal Collier. MLB Network insider Jon Heyman reports that Chicago will send Minor League infielder Andruw Monasterio to Washington. But the Nats weren’t done dealing as St. Louis reacquired Washington outfielder/first baseman Matt Adams for cash considerations.
