JV, Cole first teammates to fan 250 since ’02
Making his first start at Comerica Park since the Tigers traded him to the Astros last year, right-hander Justin Verlander combined with teammate Gerrit Cole to make some history by becoming the first right-handed pitchers on the same team to strike out at least 250 batters in the same season since at least 1900.
