With an opportunity to gain ground in the Wild Card race, the Mariners fell flat in Toronto, as James Paxton allowed eight earned runs inside of three innings in a crushing 14-4 loss to the Blue Jays on Monday night, leaving Seattle two games back of a Wild Card spot with only six left to play.
