Mariners edge Halos, make move in WC race

Ben Gamel had a three-run homer and Mike Leake (two earned runs over six innings) settled down after a rough start as the Mariners topped the Angels in the first game of a three-game series. The win also allowed them to move four games back of the second AL Wild Card. The Angels, who got a two-run single by Justin Upton, fell two games behind the Twins for the second AL Wild Card. Albert Pujols had an RBI single in the sixth, giving him 94 RBIs.
