McCann to have knee surgery; Smith activated

Astros catcher Brian McCann flew to Houston on Tuesday to meet with team medical director Dr. David Lintner ahead of having surgery on his right knee, manager AJ Hinch said. The Astros placed McCann on the disabled list Tuesday with a sore right knee for the second time this season.
