Mejia hits 1st 2 MLB HRs in 1st SD start for win

Francisco Mejia hit his first two Major League homers in his first two at-bats on Thursday to power the Padres to a win in the series opener vs. the Reds. Both of Mejia’s homers came against Reds starter Luis Castillo, who allowed a career-high three home runs. Hunter Renfroe hit his 20th homer for San Diego, which got four shutout innings and eight strikeouts from starter Eric Lauer. Scott Schebler and Mason Williams homered for Cincinnati.
