Mets’ deGrom named NL Rookie of the Year

The Baseball Writers’ Association of America voted the Mets’ Jacob deGrom the National League Rookie of the Year on Monday over fellow finalists Billy Hamilton of the Reds and Kolten Wong of the Cardinals, giving the Mets their first Rookie of the Year since Darryl Strawberry and Dwight Gooden won back-to-back in 1983-84.
