Minor continues late-season surge for Rangers

Mike Minor faced the minimum in six innings, and Shin-Soo Choo ended Texas’ 19-inning scoreless streak by homering on the first pitch to set the tone for the finale in Oakland. Joey Gallo hit homer No. 33, while Adrian Beltre added two RBI singles off A’s starter Edwin Jackson, who struggled in 4 1/3 innings. Stephen Piscotty got the A’s on the board with a double in the seventh as Oakland rallied, but Alex Claudio fanned Matt Olson with two on to end the threat.
