Ohtani notches second 4-hit, 2-HR game
Hours after receiving a recommendation to undergo Tommy John surgery, Shohei Ohtani showed that his damaged right elbow won’t hinder his potent left-handed bat for now. Ohtani homered twice en route to a four-hit night for the Angels, who cruised to a 9-3 win over the Rangers on Wednesday to earn a series victory at Globe Life Park. Andrelton Simmons added a two-run home run to back Jaime Barria, who earned his 10th win of the season. Rangers designated hitter Adrian Beltre hit a two-run blast of his own, homering for the second straight game and third time in his last five games.
