Orioles victim of Royals’ extra-innings magic in Game 1
After cruising to a sweep of the Tigers in the ALDS, the Orioles knew coming into the ALCS that facing a red-hot Royals club would prove to be a tough task. And Friday’s Game 1 lived up to the billing, a thrilling back-and-forth contest between two clubs almost no one predicted to be here. In the end, though, it was the O’s bullpen that broke down first in an 8-6 loss in 10 innings to open the best-of-seven set.
