Peers choose Trout as AL’s Outstanding Player

Angels center fielder Mike Trout added to his burgeoning trophy collection on Monday, winning a Players Choice Award as the American League’s Outstanding Player. He beat out Tigers designated hitter Victor Martinez and Astros second baseman Jose Altuve in what is expected to be a precursor to securing the AL MVP Award, which will be revealed Nov. 13 on MLB Network.
