‘Pen usage a daily puzzle for Shildt

Piecing together available and effective arms to garner the final outs of a game remains a daily puzzle for manager Mike Shildt, who will be without two of his most trusted late-inning relievers on Tuesday in the second game of the Cardinals’ three-game series at SunTrust Park.
