Roberto Perez was not supposed to be in Sunday’s lineup for the Indians, but a marathon loss to the Tigers one night earlier necessitated a change of plans. That chain of events put the Tribe catcher in the line of fire of an ill-fated inside fastball that forced him to exit early.
