Phillies see NL East hopes end in Atlanta

Gabe Kapler opened Spring Training a little more than seven months ago by saying the Phillies had the opportunity to “shock” people. It meant his team would be “very competitive” in September, he said. It meant “being in the mix, being in the hunt, fighting for the National League East.” But the Braves ended the fight on Saturday, when they clinched the NL East title with a 5-3 victory over the Phils at SunTrust Park.
