Phils beat D-backs behind Pivetta, 4-run 8th
Phillies right-hander Nick Pivetta seems to be getting on a roll again. He pitched six scoreless innings Tuesday night in a 5-2 victory over the D-backs at Chase Field. Pivetta allowed five hits and one walk and struck out six. He has allowed two runs in 12 innings in his last two starts. Nick Williams homered in the third inning to give the Phillies an early 1-0 lead. The Phillies scored four insurance runs in the eighth inning. The first-place Phillies maintained a 1 1/2-game lead over the Braves in the National League East.
