Pistons secure final East berth; Hornets miss out

Even without Blake Griffin, the Detroit Pistons were able to secure the final playoff berth in the Eastern Conference on Wednesday with a win over the Knicks. The Charlotte Hornets, needing a win and a Pistons’ loss to get in, fell to Orlando.
