Quintana gets call for Cubs in NLCS Game 1
More than anything, Jose Quintana’s Cubs teammates praised his poise after a successful postseason debut earlier this week. In third baseman Kris Bryant’s eyes, “you couldn’t even tell it was his first start.” Utilityman Ben Zobrist said “he just proved that he’s a gamer.”
For those reasons and others, the Cubs selected Quintana over John Lackey to start National League Championship Series Game 1 on Saturday against the Dodgers, choosing one of baseball’s least experienced postseason pitchers over one of its most.
